Tuition and Attendance 2012-2013, effective July 2012
Tuition is paid in monthly installments at the first lesson of each month. Lessons are $40/60 minute lessons and $30/45 minute lessons. By enrolling in lessons, students and parents commit to lessons and tuition payment for a full semester. An annual recital fee of $15 is charged to help pay for recital hall rentals, guest teachers, program printing, etc. This fee is due with the first payment of the fall/winter semester. If beginning lessons mid-year, this is due at your first lesson.
2012-2013 schedule
Fall/Winter: July 23 – December 15
Spring: January 7 – May 18
Summer: June 3 – July 19
Unexcused absences are not tolerated. You will be charged for an unexcused absence. A lesson is unexcused if it is missed for any reason other than illness (defined as too ill to attend school) or equal unpreventable emergency. Lack of preparation is not a valid excuse for an excused cancellation. Other conflicts, such as vacation, medical appointments, school events, etc. are scheduled in advance, and therefore affected lessons need to be taken care of in advance. When such a situation arises, you are responsible for contacting another student to trade lesson times or myself to schedule a make-up lesson. In the event that I am unable to teach a scheduled lesson, either a make-up lesson will be scheduled or payment will be rolled over in your account. Refunds are not given.
Preparation and Participation
Because that which is of greatest worth requires the greatest work, I require no less from my students, their parents, and myself. Regular, punctual lesson attendance and daily practice are not only essential to a student’s skill development, they also promote personal discipline and respect for themselves and the teacher. A pattern of being unprepared will result in the student being asked to leave the studio.
Studio performance classes (included as part of tuition) will be held approximately monthly. These classes are supplementary to private lessons. Attendance at studio class is expected. During studio performance class, students will have the opportunity to perform for each other and give feedback in a casual, friendly environment. Please notify me if you are ever unable to attend. Studio recitals will also be held; participation is required.
